Saturday night at Houston Motorsports Park was a good one.

SAM Tech was proud to sponsor the Spectator Racing event. Four of the competitors were SAM Tech students, three of whom had never been on a circle track before.

After a night of head-to-head racing, Brandon D. And his 2026 Porsche Cayenne Turbo came out on top and took home the win.

In addition to competing, our students were able to spend the evening enjoying local racing across several classes and getting an up-close look at the action.

It was a great night of racing, competition, and experience for our students. Thanks to Houston Motorsports Park for having us and to everyone who came out to race, watch, and support the event.


HMP Oval Track

Our CNC students recently had the opportunity to tour DeWalch Industries and get an inside look at real-world manufacturing.

The visit gave our students a chance to see both CNC and manual machining in action, learn more about DeWalch’s operation, and hear directly about the types of careers and opportunities available in the industry.

Getting students out of the classroom and into facilities like this helps connect the skills they’re learning at SAM Tech with where those skills can take them after graduation.

A big thank you to the team at DeWalch Industries for taking the time to show our students around and share their knowledge and experience with the next generation of machinists.

🏁 The Final Five Begins! 🏁

The countdown is on as HMP The Oval Track gears up for the final five events of the 2026 season, and we’re kicking it off with two exciting nights in August that you won’t want to miss!

🎉 August 15 brings Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Three 17 Awards! Join us for a night packed with giveaways, the HMP Triple Crown Trophy Dash for the Eco Stocks, Legends, and Legacy classes, plus eight classes of racing and plenty of memories made in Victory Lane.

🏁 August 29 marks the return of Spectator Races, presented by SAMTECH! This is your one and only chance to race the HMP oval in 2026. Whether you’re behind the wheel or cheering from the grandstands, it’s always one of the most entertaining nights of the season.

Then the excitement keeps building…

🏆 September 12 is Legends Night, presented by Romeo’s Marinara, featuring a Legends Double Feature and an INEX National Qualifier as the battle for championships heats up.

🔥 October 17 brings Halloween Havoc, presented by (Sponsor pending), featuring Dirt vs Asphalt as Eco Stocks and Stock Cars battle for bragging rights and bonus money. Plus, the Outlaws return racing for $1,000 to win, and the Quarter Midget Association returns to HMP for another exciting appearance.

👑 It all leads to November 21 as we Crown the Champions! Championship Night is proudly presented by T&L Maintenance and Sigma Corporation, featuring the Lauren Michelle Memorial Pro Truck Race paying $1,000 to win, presented by Colton Cook Designs, along with the always entertaining Ladies Powder Puff Eco Stock Race before we celebrate our 2026 Track Champions.

EFI tuning has evolved far beyond fuel and timing maps. Today’s performance vehicles rely on direct-injection, variable valve timing, torque modulation, electronically controlled turbos, and complex onboard systems that all work together.

SAM Tech’s EFI Calibration Program teaches students how to understand and calibrate these advanced systems through hands-on training, dyno testing, and real-world application.

From airflow dynamics and valve events to ECM logic and drivability, students learn the science behind modern performance calibration.
