The Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research and Cheeky Charity were proud to spend the day sharing colorectal cancer prevention and screening information with the community. From meaningful conversations to a completely filled Butt Wall and hundreds of pins distributed, we were reminded that cancer prevention truly is for everyone.

CHPPR, in partnership with Cheeky Charity, is seeking volunteers to support colorectal cancer awareness outreach at Houston Pride! Help us engage the community and promote lifesaving screening and prevention messages.

Want to help at Houston Pride this Saturday (6/6)? Cheeky Charity needs a few more volunteers at our booth (A10, City Hall festival) to talk LGBTQ+ health and cancer screening. Fun, easy, all ages welcome for shifts. Pick 10 AM - 2 PM and/or 2 PM - 6 PM.

Powerful conversations, community education, and awareness at the “Elephant in the Room” event.

We engaged women in important discussions around uterine, ovarian, cervical, and colorectal cancers, emphasizing prevention, family history, and the importance of CRC screening starting at age 45. The interactive inflatable colon was a crowd favorite and helped bring awareness to the importance of early detection.

A special thank you to the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for having us and creating space for these important conversations in our community!

We were excited to be part of the 5th Annual Zydeco 4 Cancer, hosted by Sistas in the Community! This event brought together music, culture, and community, all in support of cancer awareness and prevention.

It was a great opportunity to connect, celebrate, and learn how we can take steps toward better health together.
