Delta Sigma Theta - Houston Alumnae Chapter The Sorority was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University.

These young women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence; to provide scholarships; to provide support to the underserved; educate and stimulate participa The organizational structure and governance of the Sorority is invested in the Grand Chapter, which meets in National Convention biennially. Regional Conferences are held in the seven geographic regions of the orga

nization during non-convention years. In the interim, the Executive Board, consisting of elected and appointed members, acts to establish and implement policies, as needed. A paid professional staff, under the leadership of the Executive Director, operates the National Headquarters office in Washington, D.C.

Houston Alumnae Chapter Youth Programs Applications Are Now Open!

The Houston Alumnae Chapter is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for our award-winning Youth Programs for the 2026–2027 program year!

We invite motivated young people to join programs designed to inspire academic excellence, leadership development, community service, cultural awareness, and personal growth.

Our Programs

Delta Academy
For girls ages 11–14 or grades 6–8, Delta Academy provides a supportive environment where young ladies build confidence, strengthen academic skills, explore STEM opportunities, and develop leadership abilities while preparing for future success.

Delta GEMS (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully)
For girls ages 14–18 or grades 9–12, Delta GEMS focuses on college and career readiness, leadership development, community engagement, healthy decision-making, and sisterhood. Participants gain valuable skills that prepare them for success beyond high school.

EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence)
For boys ages 12–18, EMBODI empowers young men through mentorship, leadership training, educational enrichment, and service opportunities that encourage achievement and responsible citizenship.

❤️✨ Southwest Regional Conference Recap ✨❤️

What a weekend to remember!

Houston Alumnae Chapter proudly traveled to Grapevine, Texas for the Southwest Regional Conference, where we joined sorors from across the region for a weekend filled with sisterhood, learning, leadership, service, and celebration.

From inspiring workshops and impactful conversations to unforgettable fellowship and Delta traditions, every moment reinforced the power of our collective commitment to serving our communities and uplifting one another.

We returned home energized, inspired, and ready to continue the work—carrying forward the lessons learned, connections made, and memories shared.

Thank you to every soror who represented Houston Alumnae Chapter with excellence, enthusiasm, and Delta spirit.
