We're proud to announce the S. Lucia Mitchell Prillerman & Holland Scholarship, established through a planned gift from alumna Sernorma Lucia Mitchell, Class of 1973.

This endowed scholarship will support underrepresented students, with preference for those connected to the Healthy Grandfamilies program, first-generation college students, and those with financial need. Mitchell’s journey reflects the power of community, mentorship, and perseverance.

We are grateful for her generosity and commitment to creating opportunities for future Yellow Jackets.

West Virginia State University is proud to announce the James and Elaine Hill Endowed Scholarship, created through a generous gift from distinguished alumni whose lives reflect leadership, service, and impact.

This scholarship will support WVSU students, with preference for female students from Charleston pursuing STEM fields and students majoring in chemistry.

From meeting in a WVSU chemistry lab to building remarkable careers in public service, science, and community leadership, the Hills continue to invest in the future of Yellow Jackets.
