¡Holaaa HACER familia!

HACER has been a space where we have looked to find community when we arrived at Rice, and where we were able to find others to enjoy our culture with. We believe HACER should foster a home for the Latine community at Rice and be the source of connection for our community. As Co-Presidents, we hope to continue creating a space where students can show up looking for a place to make new friends and feel more connected to their home and culture!

Madison Rojas is a senior at Lovett studying Social Policy Analysis, philosophy, and Latin-American studies on the pre-law track! She has previously served on the HACER socials committee and as treasurer— she loves the community that HACER has provided her throughout her time at Rice. Madison grew up in Dallas, TX and is a proud Mexican-American/chicana woman 🇲🇽🫶.

Sofia is a senior at Martel (MBYM) studying Biosciences and Data Science. She is a proud Central American, Salvadoran 🇸🇻and Honduran 🇭🇳. She is a former co-chair of the cultural events committee and has helped put on HACER’s largest events, Quince and Ritmo!

Together, we plan on continuing HACER’s legacy of community and culture!

Hi! I’m Zach, and I’m a junior from Jones studying Biosciences with a Cell Biology and Genetics concentration. My favorite thing about HACER is our GBMs (which I now run this year) and the community that HACER fosters, and I’m super excited to engage with members through GBMs and events!

Holisss! I’m Ashley, a junior from Duncan, from Brownsville, TX! (yayaya 956)
I’m majoring in Civill Engineering, with a minor in Engineering Design. I love spending time with friends and family, binge-watching shows & movies, and getting lost in a good book! I’m very excited to help keep our organization connected and organized and send out cute listservs while contributing to meaningful events that celebrate our cultura and bring our community together.

Wassupp, I’m Alejandro (alejandro) and I’ll be HACER’s treasurer for this year.
I’m a sophomore at Sid Rich. Born in the RGV, raised in Tamaulipas, Mexico.
