What happens in childhood doesn't stay in childhood. A new UTHealth Houston study found that exposure to multiple childhood traumas is associated with worse outcomes in young adulthood, highlighting the critical need for trauma-informed care and early support systems.

A new chapter in brain health begins at UTHealth Houston.

Rima Kaddurah-Daouk, PhD, has been named inaugural chair of the Department of Precision Behavioral Health, the first department established within UTHealth Houston School of Behavioral Health Sciences.

Her leadership will help advance a new era of behavioral health — connecting big data, AI and precision medicine to transform how we understand brain health and improve lives.

Our MS in Clinical Psychology students had the opportunity to hear from Daniel Garcia, PhD, MTS of The MendCenter about the role of psychoanalytic theory in clinical practice. Dr. Garcia shared insights into how he incorporates psychoanalytic approaches and interventions when working with adults with serious mental illness.
