"My study abroad experience was amazing beyond compare. I studied in Lisbon, Portugal and loved every second of it. I studied through the program API and it was the best decision I ever made. Studying abroad has broadened my academic and career aspirations by exposing me to diverse perspectives and interdisciplinary approaches. Academically, I've realized the importance of integrating global contexts into my studies, enhancing my understanding of different cultures and international issues. Career-wise, I am now more inclined to pursue opportunities that involve cross-cultural collaboration and have a global impact. On a personal level, this experience has underscored the value of adaptability, open-mindedness, and lifelong learning, shaping my life goals to include continuous personal growth and cultural exploration. Studying abroad in Lisbon has instilled in me a deep appreciation for a slower, more mindful pace of life. I've learned the value of savoring everyday moments, whether it's enjoying a leisurely meal or taking a stroll through a neighborhood. Embracing a sense of community and prioritizing meaningful connections with others has also become important to me. I plan to continue these behaviors when I return home, fostering a balanced lifestyle that values quality time and personal well-being. Meeting other study abroad students has been an enriching and exciting part of my experience in Lisbon. It’s fascinating to hear about their diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. I've met students from a variety of countries, including Spain, Belgium, Ukraine, France, Italy, Switzerland, the United States, and China. Interacting with them has broadened my cultural understanding and provided a network of friends from around the world, each bringing unique insights and stories from their home countries."
