The Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (CADD) at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, provides autism assessment, group and family counseling, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to members of the greater Houston area. ABA services are available in the areas of early intervention, severe problem behavior reduction, verbal behavior training, and vocational training. It's that time of the year when we celebrate the spooky season with a fun trunk-or-treat event hosted by the Applied Behavior Analysis Student Organization (ABASO). Please join us on Saturday October 24th for some fall fun, science, painting, games, and of course candy and cool trunks! People of all ages and abilities welcome....costume encouraged but not required!

We will see you there! 🎃

Ha llegado la época del año en la que celebramos la temporada de Halloween con un divertido evento de "trunk-or-treat" (dulces o truco desed la cajuela), organizado por la Asociación de Estudiantes de Análisis de Conducta Aplicada (ABASO). Acompáñennos el sábado 24 de octubre para disfrutar de actividades otoñales, ciencia, pintura, juegos y, por supuesto, ¡dulces y cajuelas decoradas de forma creativa! One of our wonderful graduate students is conducting research on teaching family members strategies to manage challenging behaviors. Please see her brief blurb below and flyer for the research study. Please share!

Examining Maintenance of Caregiver Treatment Adherence Across Contextual Challenges

This study examines whether skills learned during caregiver training are maintained when caregivers encounter different challenges outside of the clinic setting while implementing ABA treatments. Participation in the study involves the caregiver only.

We are looking for participants who:

1. Are a primary caregiver of a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
2. Have a child who currently engages in challenging behavior
3. Have previously participated in caregiver training through ABA services

The requirements to participate are:
You must be 18 years or older
Neurodevelopmental diagnoses (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)
Must check your e-mail at least once a week
Must know how to write an e-mail
