We still have a some openings in our Buzzing for Honey Bees class tomorrow evening (8/5), from 5:30-7pm here at the University Farm!

Register via CampusGroups (link in bio) to spend some time with Sarah, our resident beekeeper, and learn about the life of a honey bee, the complexities of honey production, visit our apiary, and more!

We typically welcome visitors to our trails to enjoy our fields, forests, and fresh air, but we are keeping our team members inside wherever possible today for their safety and hope you will all stay home to do the same!

As with much of Northeast Ohio and the broader Great Lakes & Northeast regions, we are experiencing Very Unhealthy levels of air pollution today that are expected to deteriorate into the Code Maroon Hazardous range, per the EPA’s Air Quality Index (AQI) forecast. The high concentration of particulate matter in our air is a result of atmospheric conditions bringing smoke to us from wildfires burning to the northwest in Canada and serves as a solemn reminder of how delicate our relationship can be with the climate system in which we all live.

2026 Farm stands are making their debut next week!

We’ve been sure to pop into the cold storage room for a few *extra* checks on the veggies this week. Just for sake of the veggies, of course. No other reason at all, not sure why you would ask. 🌡️🌞

Stop by the greenhouse at the University Farm on Wednesday, July 8th from 2-5pm to pick up all the farm-fresh, local produce you need to recover from this and holiday weekend!
