Let your creativity take flight! The Huntington Museum of Art is thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual T-Shirt Design Competition, inviting artists of all ages to capture the theme: “Fly Me to the Museum”.

Since we opened in 1952, the Huntington Museum of Art has strived to provide a space for the community to observe birds in their natural habitat while leaving them undisturbed. This year, we celebrate that commitment by challenging our participants not just to get out and explore our fifty-two acres of land on over two miles of hiking trails, but to also keep a keen eye out for our feathered friends that call the property home!

Whether you’re a young artist or an experienced designer, this is your chance to have your artwork featured official HMA merchandise, make a lasting impact on our community, and help us honor HMA history. With amazing prizes such as $500 cash and a free Museum membership, this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss! Grab your binoculars, we’ll see you on the trails!

You can find the official entry form and check out the full set of details and rules at https://hmoa.org/t-shirt-design-contest/.

The photo from the 1950 HMA archives shows the late Dorothy Polan, dedicated supporter of the Huntington Museum of Art, speaking to a group of children about a taxidermied blue jay as part of a nature study session. Even before the creation of the Huntington Galleries in 1952, the Huntington chapter of the American Association of University Women created “The Fun School” to supplement education from the public school system, giving children additional opportunities to expand their knowledge in the areas of art, music, history, and even nature. The volunteers from the Huntington AAUW, like Mrs. Polan, were influential in pushing for the creation of a permanent facility to house their program. By merging with the new Galleries effort, they found their home. Today, HMA is proud to serve the public in the areas of art, education, and nature—a reminder of the lasting foundation built by the ladies of the AAUW.

Finishing touches 💚

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to making this mural happen and not only beautifying our campus, but representing and honoring the rich history and arts present here at Marshall, along with our six pillars of excellence and forward-thinking disposition as right across the road we have the amazing cybersecurity building being constructed.

Special thanks to Nichole Westfall, Sophia Celdran, Courtney Chapman, Mark Zanter, and last but certainly not least, “Brad from Kenova.” You’ve made our CAMmunity much more colorful just in time for Fall 🎨🎶💚

It’s coming alonnnng 🎨🎶

Once again, major shoutout and appreciation to the individuals who worked on making this happen. You can see the symbolization of how all the parts tie together and hold each other up coming together—perfect representation of Marshall 💚

It’s going to look beautiful when it’s finished!

Words can't even express how proud we are of our Marshall W. Page Pitt School of Journalism and Mass Communications faculty, and today we'd like to highlight Professor Dan Hollis, who was recently recognized and inducted into the Silver Circle of the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for his career! 📺📰

If you've ever had Professor Hollis for class or worked with him, you know the impact he's had not just on our students, but the whole community around him. He's a shining example of what it means to truly be an expert and educator, and his track record shows it.

Thank you for being part of our CAMmunity, Professor Hollis! 🎤

We’re so excited and appreciate the work that Nichole Westfall has put in, all the way from obtaining the amazing NEA grant to seeing it decorate the wall of Smith Music Hall 💚

Stay tuned to see how it develops! 🎼
