Congratulations to our Spring 2026 Class of Nursing Graduates! We are proud of our students across all of our undergraduate and graduate programs - we see bright futures for all of our nurses!

🏥 Last Friday, three of our nursing students, Layla Crockett, Olivia Marlowe, and Kai Zhang, attended the HH 2026 Pediatric Conference: Bridging Pediatric Healthcare, and it was an incredible learning experience!

From exploring vendor tables to seeing firsthand how different equipment and processes can achieve the same patient outcomes, the students got a real-world look at how nurses engage in continuing education and lifelong learning.

A special thank you to Huntsville Hospital for sponsoring two of our students, and to faculty members Drs. Seady and Morrison for sponsoring the third. We're also grateful to Cheryl Case, Service Line Director for Women's & Children's, for taking the time to speak with our students and introduce them to the unit directors.

Experiences like this are exactly why we believe in going beyond the classroom. 💙

It's STI awareness week with the Center for Disease Control, and our NUR 403 students created videos to cover education and information about STIs. Oscar for best film is within reach!

🎉 We are so proud of our own Jenna Post, a UAH College of Nursing student and Air Force ROTC Cadet in the Commissioning Class of 2028! 💙

Following in the footsteps of both of her parents who served as Air Force Officers, Jenna is carrying on a legacy of service, and we couldn't be more proud to be part of her journey. She's not only pursuing her nursing degree, but also preparing to serve her country as an Air Force nurse, caring for those who protect us all.

Jenna, we are honored to have you representing the UAH College of Nursing. The sky is truly the limit! ✈️🩺

Thank you to the BHS NHS students who volunteered as standardized patients in our UAH Family Nurse Practitioner pediatric simulation. Their preparation and engagement made a meaningful impact on student learning, and partnerships like this continue to strengthen both our schools as we prepare future Family Nurse Practitioners. 💙🩺

Hear what Sarah Kirshtein has to say about becoming an MSN Nurse Educator. 💙🩺

Before applying to nursing school, Sarah knew she wanted to teach. After gaining clinical experience, UAH was the next logical step in her journey.

One lesson has stayed with her: find your joy in nursing, it’s what sustains you through the hard seasons. Beginning her career in 2020 made that advice even more meaningful.

Today, Sarah is passionate about creating a supportive environment where nursing students and new graduates can build confidence and discover their own path. Her goal is to help future nurses become knowledgeable, confident, and successful in whatever area they choose.
