🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of Bearkat Impact!

Please join us in celebrating our Dean, Dr. Ryan Zapalac, on 20 years at Sam Houston State University!

For two decades, Dr. Zapalac has shown what it means to truly care about students, faculty and staff. He shows up — whether he’s cheering on students at events, meeting their families, celebrating the big and small accomplishments of his team or even dressing up for Halloween. 🎃

He’s the Dean who will walk a new student across campus to make sure they get where they need to go, pause lunch to help a student who drops by just to say hi and go the extra mile to make people feel seen, supported and valued.

His leadership has helped shape the College of Health Sciences, but it’s his genuine investment in people that makes his impact so meaningful.

We’re proud to have him leading COHS as we continue to grow our programs, strengthen partnerships and prepare the next generation of health professionals.

We are incredibly grateful for 20 years of dedication, leadership and Bearkat spirit. Congratulations, Dr. Zapalac! Here’s to the next chapter! 🎉
