Not all heroes wear capes; some defend cyberspace with a keyboard and a mouse. 💻🛡️

SHSU graduate student Kenna Ruckey was recently recognized with a U.S. House of Representatives Commendation for her “Extraordinary Service – Cyber Security” and a challenge coin from Major General (ret.) David Glaser, SHSU’s chief strategy officer.

While working in the SHSU Security Operations Center, Ruckey helped identify two separate cyber incidents involving different foreign entities.

Now, she’s continuing to build her expertise in cybersecurity, incident response, and artificial intelligence as she works toward her master’s degree at SHSU.
