GENERAL SUMMARY
The role of the Special Order Designer I is the creation and maintenance of new and existing 2D & 3D CAD drawings and model databases. This includes processing simple customer special orders as required.

This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Creation of 2D or 3D drawings and layouts using DraftSight/AutoCad & SolidWorks. Drawings include customer installation, assembly and piece parts drawings
Provide 2D or 3D CAD layout support for new and old designs.
Contact vendors for technical data on purchased components when required.
Assume responsibility for accuracy of new engineering documents produced.
Support simple customer special orders efficiently through drafting, design, bill of material and vendor data to assure manufacturable products are delivered on time.
Become familiar with products, product standards e.g. MSS, ASME, ANSI and ASTM.
Assist/backup SOE designers with drafting and design workloads.
Provide internal engineering and troubleshooting support as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma plus a 2-year associate or vocational degree in technical drafting and design. Related experience a plus.
Proficient use of 2D and 3D CAD drafting systems and computer processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Possesses an understanding of manufacturing processes.
Requires good written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with others, inside and outside of the company.
Good interpersonal skills to provide support to the SOE group and must be capable of making decisions with guidance.
Able to work independently.
Prioritize own workload in accordance with department goals and daily reports. Work overtime as required to support backlog to meet the customer needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
Factory floor support is imperative.
The physical requirements of the job are related to some testing in the engineering lab, field service activities that can be part of the job assignments or handling component parts in the plant during a quality inspection.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.

Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting documentation of product design activities utilizing Inventor CAD software. Perform accurate and precise drafting work. Create ECNs, maintain project print planners, and have a thorough understanding of drafting standards. Responsible for supporting product design activities including developing new designs and/or improving upon the performance and design of existing products. Structural steel and material handling fabricator in Hutchinson, Minnesota seeks qualified Structural
Steel & Mechanical Designers to become a part of its onsite team! The ideal candidate will have either
an A. S. or B. S. degree.

 Structural: Generate detailed 3D models and shop fabrication drawings of steel support towers,
trusses, and related equipment for customer review and approval.
 Mechanical: Generate detailed 3D models and shop fabrication drawings of material handling
equipment, such as drag conveyors, bucket elevators and belt conveyors.

Responsibilities:
 Calculate dimensions and tolerance.
 Provide daily/timely updates for model and drawing completion and prioritize workload.

Qualifications:

Position Summary: Northern Radiator is searching for a SolidWorks 2D & 3D Drafter to join our team located in Willmar, Minnesota. The Drafter will be responsible for creating new and maintain existing 2D & 3D CAD drawings and design documents.
Essential Functions:
▪ Drawing of products and/or components are based on verbal instruction, sketches, reverse engineering and/or formal documents.
▪ Prepare, produce, and revise drawings using computer aided drafting software. (SolidWorks)
▪ Design, create, and organize SolidWorks 2D& 3D CAD drawings based on standard office procedures.
▪ Work with Manufacturing to process improvements/changes to existing parts, develop new product, and resolve any product defects or issues.
▪ Design sketches to ensure the proper tolerance levels of the finished product.
▪ Interpret engineering drawings, obtain basic mechanical data from documents, scans, and field measurements as needed to assist internal, customer, and vendor inquiries or make updates as necessary.
▪ Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
▪ Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
▪ All other goals and activities to meet position requirements and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: ▪ Experience in CAD programs such as SolidWorks or similar programs. ▪ Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings. ▪ Ability to work independently and take initiative. ▪ Must have mathematical knowledge including the ability to work with and convert both imperial and metric units of measure. ▪ Must have experience reading tape measure, caliper, and other measuring gauges. Work Hours: Available work hours occur between 8am and 5pm, Monday thru Friday. Will work with student’s schedules. Work Environment: Most work is performed in an office setting or product lab using typical office and measuring equipment including but not limited to the following items: tape measure, calipers, common mechanics tools, computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, and other office equipment as needed. Physical Requirements:
This position requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
