Important Info ⤵️

Pardon our digital dust!️ This summer, we are upgrading our campus systems to make managing classes and student info easier than ever.

Do this before July 7: Secure your classes, make schedule changes, and check your financial aid status or billing.

July 7 – 31 (Go Dark Period): System upgrades are underway. Class registration, student account views, and payment portals will be temporarily offline.

After July 31 - Welcome to the new DragonZone system. Most of the updates are behind the scenes, but watch in the coming months as new features will roll out.

Launching a brand-new, cutting-edge system takes time, so thank you for your patience as we work out any initial kinks.

Distinguished Dragons of Excellence 2026 - Abby Filippi

From Wichita, Kansas, Abby Filippi completed the prerequisites for HutchCC’s Radiolgic Technology program, which she will start this coming fall semester. Her nominator writes, “Abby is a fantastic student! She always participates in class and demonstrates critical thinking skills. She often thinks beyond the necessary content to ask insightful questions that often start a deeper conversation for the entire class” before adding, “I have also witnessed Abby be a caring friend and provide support to someone who may have needed a helping hand at the time. She is simply a JOY to have in class.”

In addition to being named repeatedly to the President’s Honor Roll, Abby played in the HutchCC Symphonic Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band. Her musical skills led to her receiving both Band and Jazz Scholarships. On top of this, she was a photographer for the Hutchinson Collegian and won first place for sports photograph at the 2026 Kansas Collegiate Media conference. Furthermore, she served as a class note taker too for Accessibility Services. One of Abby’s favorite HutchCC experiences was seeing Larry in the cafeteria every morning. When reflecting about her time at HutchCC so far, she writes, “I would like to thank Professor Eric Stambaugh for having more confidence in myself than I do.”

Distinguished Dragons of Excellence 2026 - Kara Franz

From Haven, Kansas, Kara Franz completed her Associate Degree in Nursing and an Associate of Science degree while attending HutchCC. Her nominator writes, “Kara has played a crucial role in keeping our food pantry running. She always has a great attitude and is willing to help with anything you ask her.”

In addition to her work with the Dragon’s Food Pantry, Kara has been named to both the Vice President’s and President’s Honor Roll. Her favorite HutchCC experience was when Student Success Center staff surprised her with a birthday party.

When reflecting about her time at HutchCC, Kara writes, “I would love to thank Debra Graber for her continued support, guidance, and compassion. She has played several roles in my college experience, and I would not have made it this far without her. I could never express my gratitude!”

There are virtually limitless ways 14, 15, and 16-year-old students could have spent a summer day - but these students chose something more.

They chose to invest in themselves and their communities by participating in our 3rd annual Healthcare Heroes Bootcamp. 🦸‍♀️🦸🏼‍♂️

💙 We welcomed students from Hutchinson, South Hutchinson, Buhler, Little River, McPherson, Hesston and Wichita, all coming together to explore Healthcare careers and gain hands-on skills that could one day save a life - maybe even yours or someone you love.

Moments like this are a powerful reminder: the future is in good hands, and it's looking incredibly bright. 😎
