Offered in partnership with the IU Indianapolis Honors College, the competitive FSPH Honors Program gives select undergraduate students opportunities to take enriching honors courses, receive dedicated advising, participate in exclusive workshops and student organizations, and earn an honors notation on their transcript and degree. Students also receive a $2,500 study abroad stipend to help take their learning beyond the classroom, and around the world.

In this piece from Mirror Indy examining Medicaid coverage of weight-loss medications, Associate Professor Aparna Soni, PhD, draws on her research expertise to highlight the importance of continuity of coverage and care for people managing chronic conditions, including obesity and diabetes. “If coverage is interrupted, patients are worse off,” Soni said. “Stopping therapy tends to reverse the gains.”

An Indianapolis doctor celebrated the news, but warned the program must stay funded to keep patients healthy.
