World Singing Day is a global sing-along held annually on the 3rd Saturday in October. As a catalyst for positive human connection, this one day each year serves as an opportunity to celebrate our global family through the international language of music.

The day was founded in 2012 by Colorado musician Scott Johnson, World Singing Day brings people together in their communities all around the world through the simple act of singing together.

So take a moment today to get together with some others and sing a tune! 🎶

💡Recruitment Tip Incoming💡

Whether you're planning recruitment this semester or waiting until the spring, recruitment events can take place all year long. However, if you are planning for events to lead to a pledge ceremony, avoid a long period of time between recruitment events and the pledge ceremony. The best audience is a captive audience.

Today we would like to wish our Editor of The Wheel a very happy birthday!

Katrina said Delta Omicron inspires her to keep her passion for music and performing alive, and she's thankful to be surrounded by colleagues, friends, and mentors who believe in her when things aren't at their best and celebrate wins as they come! She is looking forward to developing new skills and improving those I established in my library career by helping to revitalize The Wheel and our fraternity for future music professionals.

Since 2019, Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a holiday celebrated on the second Monday of October in many parts of the U.S.

The observation of Indigenous Peoples’ Day counters false historical narratives embedded within the celebration of Columbus Day. It recognizes that Native people are the first inhabitants of the Americas, including the lands that later became the U.S. It urges Americans to rethink history.

On this day, people are encouraged to remember and celebrate the many Native people who have traditionally lived and currently live in the U.S and its territories.

Join us in celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day!
