Our Fiber Optic Training students are taking their learning outside the classroom and getting experience as they put their skills into action.

Students are demonstrating their pole-climbing techniques, safety procedures, and work-positioning skills under the guidance of instructors Leon Griffin and Stacy Jones.

Here at The Capps Center, we believe hands-on training is an important part of preparing our students for success in the fiber optic industry!

We are proud to have VP of Workforce Douglas Freeze representing MDCC and The Capps Technology Center as a panelist at the Horizon Conference, where he joined the conversation on “Building Mississippi’s Information Infrastructure.”

Reminder our CDL orientation is tomorrow 10:00 am. Please bring your valid Driver’s License, Class A Permit, and Medical Card. We look forward to seeing you.

Commercial Truck Driving orientation for the next CDL class will take place Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 10:00 am. To be eligible to attend, you must have a valid Driver’s License and Class A permit. We look forward to seeing you there.
