A couple of weeks ago, the brothers of SigEp partnered with to come together and make nearly 150 Easter baskets for children in the hospital!

This marks our 3rd year in a row being able to do this and it wouldn’t be possible without those who donated and prepared these baskets. Thank you!

Shoutout to our Philanthropy Chair for organizing this annual event and making it possible.

Congratulations to Matthew Boylen for achieving Brother of The Month for the month of March, 2026!

For the past four years, Matthew has been apart of the Iowa Men’s Basketball program as a team manager and assistant. He is constantly helping players on and off the court and shaping them not only to be better players, but to be better individuals. Over these past four years, Matthew has given many opportunities to the chapter to win free tickets to games, merchandise, and much more, as well as bringing players to the house to talk to the brothers. This past month, the Iowa Men’s Basketball team made a deep run in the annual March Madness tournament, making it all the way to the Elite 8 and beating highly competitive teams like Florida and Nebraska. It’s quite special that Matthew was able to be apart of this team on his final year with the program.

Again, congratulations Matthew, and keep on resembling what it means to be apart of the Sigma Phil Epsilon Iowa Gamma chapter!

Congratulations to our former Chapter President, Brendan Crosson, on receiving the outstanding opportunity to embark on the prestigious Travis Quest to Greece Program!

Brendan was chosen from a select group of 18 out of 12,000 Sigma Phi Epsilon members to embark on this quest, an amazing achievement.

The Tragos Quest to Greece changes the way brothers view the world, their Fraternity, and themselves. Guided by alumni mentors and a professional trained in the Classics, Tragos Quest to Greece Scholars study the influence that Greek philosophy, governance, and the arts have and continue to have in everyday life. Brothers explore Greek culture and reflect upon the origins of SigEp’s values and the Balanced Man ideal.

The program includes visits to ancient historical sites such as Athens, Delphi, Nauplion, Corinth, Mycenae and Olympia. Brothers explore the foundations of the fraternal world, experience SigEp’s ritual in a new light, and study the philosophies of Socrates and Aristotle while walking the same streets where those great minds taught.

Congratulations, Brendan!

A couple of weeks ago, the 2025-2026 Iowa Gamma Executive Board traveled to Rosemont, IL, to partake in the annual Sigma Phi Epsilon Carlson Leadership Academy!

This retreat is a training program for SigEp fraternity executive officers across the country, as well as volunteers, focusing on chapter management, recruitment, and leadership development. Each member is set out into large rooms with other SigEp members that perform the same role as them so they can share ideas, learn new skills, and collaborate with one another.

Huge shoutout to everyone that made this possible and help guide us throughout the weekend!

Congratulations to Ryan Sladky for achieving Brother of The Month for the month of January, 2025!

This past semester, Ryan achieved a 4.0 GPA and helped a lot of brothers out that were struggling academically. He’s proved himself to be a huge help around the fraternity whether it’s helping set up events, making sure everything is in proper shape, or just being a friendly and caring person to talk to. He continues to excel on paper and has his eyes on achieving another 4.0 this semester.

Again, congratulations Ryan, and keep on resembling what it means to be apart of the Sigma Phil Epsilon Iowa Gamma chapter!
