AI technologies are emerging and being integrated into seemingly everything, including inside the classroom. Olivia Miller, Mia Miceli and Lily Finstad created a fluency magazine titled, Education and AI. This magazine examines how AI can support learning when used appropriately, frequency of AI use among undergraduate students and more! They created this magazine for the class AI and Media taught by Sang Jung Kim.

During the Spring 2026 semester, three students in the Prep Sports class traveled to Des Moines to cover the largest, most prestigious track and field meet in the Midwest, the Drake Relays.

These journalists had the opportunity to network with other media professionals and learn what it takes to capture a story on the spot. No matter how many people are competing or in the stands, there is always a story worth telling. One just has to find it.

From the Mississippi to the Big Sioux/Missouri rivers, Iowa is full of interesting stories. Students that participated in the 2026 Iowa Stories & Lived Experiences (ISLE) Documentary Workshop turned their lenses on Muscatine, Iowa. From pearl buttons to the oldest amateur boxing club in Iowa, students captured pieces of Muscatine that most folks may not know about.

Join us for a screening this year's mini docs from "Where the River Bends: Multimedia Stories of Muscatine, Iowa."
