“Something so small to you can mean the world to some of these kids.”

For 2026 undergraduate commencement speaker Uriel Campos-Padilla, teaching is about more than lessons and curriculum — it’s about showing up, building relationships, and understanding the impact one kind action can have on a young person’s life.

As Uriel prepares to begin his next chapter as a first-grade teacher in Marshalltown, his message is one we can all carry with us: even the smallest moments of encouragement can make a lasting difference.

Congrats again to all of our 2026 graduates. 🖤💛
