When our community invests in students, the possibilities are endless. 🎓

Our President’s Reception brought MTC scholarship recipients and the generous donors who support them together to celebrate the power of investing in students.

Thank you to everyone helping MTC students turn their goals into possibilities!

What happens when a long-time interest becomes the start of a career?

For Jackson Thomas, an interest in electrical work that began in high school has led him to the first cohort of Midlands Technical College’s new Electrical Technology associate degree program.

The program is helping students connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world opportunities and discover where a career in electrical technology could take them.

A new chapter is taking shape 🏗️

Last week, we celebrated the beam signing for the expansion of our AMSC Center, made possible by a $1 million Lowe's Foundation grant. More space. More hands on training. More opportunities for our students. 👏

And we’re just getting started.

Today, we celebrated a major milestone with a beam signing for the expansion of the Advanced Manufacturing and Skilled Crafts (AMSC) Building.

Made possible through a $1 million dollar Gable Grant from the Lowe's Foundation, this expansion will help Midlands Tech provide more students with hands-on training and opportunities to prepare for in demand careers.

We’re excited to see this investment take shape and continue building a stronger workforce for the Midlands and beyond. 💙

Thank you to Master Sergeant Chris Adkins and Colonel Jason Alisangco from Fort Jackson for visiting MTC EMS students this month!

The students, who also serve as 68Ws (Combat Medic Specialists) stationed at Fort Jackson, are part of MTC's Paramedic Program. The program provides eligible 68Ws with a pathway that recognizes their previous military medical training through experiential credit, shortening their training to become a Paramedic to just six months.

We are proud to have students from the United States Army Training Center (USATC) and Fort Jackson in this specialized program helps maximize the medical readiness of 68Ws while providing a pathway to advanced EMS training.
