Ohio University Southern's Nursing Faculty and Staff would like to recognize our Spring 2026 Graduates who have gone on to pass their NCLEX-RN exam.

Join us in congratulating Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate, Kayleigh Collins. Kayleigh passed the NCLEX-RN exam on her first attempt, and is now a licensed RN.

Kayleigh has accepted a full-time position in the Intensive Care Unit at UK King's Daughters and will begin her fellowship in July. Before starting, she plans to spend time vacationing with family and friends and enjoying a well-deserved break after nursing school. After gaining experience in the ICU, she plans to return to school to further her education and continue growing in her nursing career.

Ohio University Southern's Nursing Faculty and Staff would like to recognize our Spring 2026 Graduates who have gone on to pass their NCLEX-RN exam.

Join us in congratulating Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate, Laiken Hobbs. Laiken passed the NCLEX-RN exam on her first attempt, and is now a licensed RN.

Upon graduation, Laiken excitedly accepted a full-time position at Kings Daughters Medical Center and will be joining their Emergency Medicine Residency in July. While Laiken is eager to start this new position and continue to further her education, she is also excited to get to spend more time with friends, family, and her fur babies. She is also very excited to start planning her upcoming wedding with her fiancé!

The doors are open! Join us for the ribbon cutting and open house of the OHIO Southern Bobcat Boutique on Tuesday, June 16 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The boutique offers free professional clothing to students and community members, from suits and dresses to shoes and accessories, so cost is never the thing standing between someone and a great interview. Stop by to tour the space, enjoy light refreshments and help us celebrate, with thanks to our partners at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

Good news for the season: the boutique is now open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, thanks to a partnership with the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization and their Summer Youth Employment Program.

Our Academic Center is easy to reach from the back 9th Street parking lot. We hope to see you there.

Brooklynn has accepted a position in the Emergency Department at UK-King's Daughters beginning in July. In the meantime, she's enjoying newlywed life with her husband, friends, and fur baby. After gaining some nursing experience, she plans to pursue travel nursing to explore places she hasn't yet had the chance to see.

Join us in congratulating Bachelor of Science in Nursing Graduate, Dylan Tucker. Dylan passed the NCLEX-RN exam on his first attempt, and is now a licensed RN.

Dylan plans to join the ICU Fellowship in July at UK King’s Daughters as he begins this next step in his nursing career. He is excited to strengthen his critical care knowledge, develop his skills in the ICU environment, and grow both professionally and personally through the experience. As he starts this new chapter, he also looks forward to making time to travel and enjoy new experiences while building a strong foundation for his future in nursing.

Rikki has accepted a full-time position in the Emergency Department at UK-King’s Daughters and plans to take the NCLEX shortly after graduation. She is incredibly grateful for the constant support and encouragement from her parents throughout her journey. As she begins her nursing career, she is also looking forward to marrying her best friend in October and starting this next chapter together.

Congratulations, Laiken!

🎓 Graduate Spotlight: Laiken Hobbs
Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Laiken Hobbs has always loved helping people. When her papaw got sick when she was younger, that love deepened into a calling. Now she's graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University Southern and heading into a full-time position in the Emergency Department at KDMC.

She says nursing school taught her that she can do anything she puts her mind to, and her favorite memories are the ones she made alongside her cohort and professors along the way.

Two causes, one drive. 🐾🍼
The Student Nurses Association at just wrapped up their "Paws and Crawls" Drive. They made deliveries today to two organizations close to our community's heart.

🏠 Safe Harbor of Northeast Kentucky — an emergency shelter serving domestic violence victims and their children — received 1,500 wipes, 378 diapers, 4 cans of formula, 5 baby blankets, a convertible car seat, and a pack-and-play.

🐾 AARF (Ashland Animal Rescue Fund) received over 200 pounds of dog and cat food — and our SNA officers stuck around to spend an hour loving on the animals at the shelter.

Nursing is about caring for people at their most vulnerable. These students live that every day. Proud of our SNA officers and their faculty advisor, Professor Nicole Stumbo! 💚

🐶🐱 BONUS: AARF is running a $50 adoption special this weekend only that includes spay/neuter — and they currently have over 100 animals looking for homes. If you've been thinking about adding a furry family member, this is your sign!
