Big ideas need the right support. 💡

Opennote—a note-taking app powered by AI that helps students better understand and retain what they learn—started in a UC Irvine student apartment. Founders and UC Irvine computer science majors Abhi Arya and Rishi Srihar turned to the ANTrepreneur Center for mentorship, workspace and feedback as they refined their product and business.

Today, Opennote has raised more than $4 million in funding and earned a spot in Y Combinator, the startup accelerator behind companies like Airbnb, Stripe and Reddit. It's another example of how UC Irvine helps students turn innovative ideas-like an app that analyzes students' notes, generates personalized explanations, creates visual study materials and produces narrated learning content-into real-world impact.
