✨Student Spotlight Alert✨

Happy Saturday! Today we wanted to introduce the president of class of 2023. ☺️

Hi I’m Kasen Matranga! I was born and raised in Yorba Linda, CA. I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and obtained a bachelor degree in Environmental Biology. I also received a master degree in Global Medicine from University of Southern California. Over the years, I have worked with the Floating Doctors in Panama, as a medical scribe at Loma Linda University Emergency Department, and as a medical assistant at Newport Orthopedic Institute. I love to travel and enjoy spending time outdoors - like camping, hiking, or skiing with my husband! I also love to dive into my creative side by painting and writing.

Fun Fact: I have performed in the opening act of the Rose Parade as a “living rose” on New Years Day!🌹✨

Today we wanted to introduce Lauren from class of 2023!

Hello!

My name is Lauren Chung and I'm from Santa Monica, CA. My favorite hobbies are road cycling, backpacking, mountain biking, and surfing! I majored in biology at UC Irvine. Before PA school, I was a CNA at Hoag Hospital, a scribe/MA for an orthopedic surgeon, and a junior specialist studying Alzheimer's Disease. A fun fact about me is that I was a subject in a developmental psychology research study for 21 years!

Today we wanted to introduce Jamie from class of 2023!

Hi everyone, my name is Jamie and I’m from LA! I graduated with a Psychology degree (after switching my major three times) from UC Riverside. A few things I enjoy are traveling, exploring new foods, and playing tennis. During my time as a pre-PA, I worked as a physical therapy aide at a womens health clinic and as a medical scribe at both a trauma ER and primary care clinic. A fun fact about me is that I am a pro parallel parker :-)

Last weekend, class of 2023 was at Special Olympics promoting safe health practices such as hand hygiene, nutrition, and hydration! 😊

Be the Match drive today till 2PM in front of the 94 building! Anyone can participate and it should only take around 10 minutes. If interested, please come by to our table. You will be given a self collected cheek swab kit and instructed on how to use it 😊

Today we wanted to introduce Joane, our secretary from class of 2023!

My name is Joane Gutierrez (PA-S1), and I'm from the Bay Area! I graduated from UC San Diego, c/o 2021, with a degree in Biochemistry. I worked as an EMT and Medical Assistant at a P*P office before starting PA school and learned so much from both of these positions!

I've met the most amazing people here at Chapman, and to say that they're going to be the best clinicians is an understatement. A fun fact about me is that I used to be a competitive powerlifter in undergrad! Let's chat over coffee/matcha!

Hi! My name is Julia Frederick and I am from Villa Park, California. I went Chapman for undergrad and majored in Health Sciences. To gain clinical hours, I worked as a medical assistant in a dermatology office and also in urgent care. I am a huge foodie and my favorite thing to do is to try new restaurants. A fun fact about me is that I studied abroad in New Zealand and traveled around in a camper van :)

Today we wanted to introduce Nadia, our CAPA student representative from the class of 2023.

Greetings! My name is Nadia Keddo, and I'm from Chula Vista, CA. I graduated from UCSD in 2019 with a Human Biology major and Human Development minor. I spent two years gaining patient care experience- in a Kuwaiti infectious disease hospital for a few months, and back home as a medical assistant in rheumatology. I enjoyed traveling and developing new outdoor hobbies during my time off school. In the present, study breaks to cycle, surf, or hang at the beach with my wonderful classmates are what keep me on track :~)

Fun fact: I am working on doing a handstand. You might catch me practicing outside the 9401 building during our afternoon breaks (I am trying to improve circulation to my brain).

Today we wanted to introduce Jessica, our amazing financial chair from the class of 2023.

My name is Jessica and I am from Huntington Beach, CA. Hobbies have become a fond memory once PA school started, but I do love walking my Pug ( ), going to wineries, date nights with the hubby, and spending time with my family and classmates! I went to CSULB for a bachelors degree in health science and worked as an EMT and ER medical scribe for clinical hours. A fun fact about me is I was very active on the speech and debate team in community college. I love to talk!
