Elevate AAPI at IVC

Elevate AAPI at IVC We are a program to elevate student learning experience at Irvine Valley College. Our resource center, CAANAPI, is located in B353.

Elevate AAPI @ IVC stands for Equitable Learning Experience Valuing Achievement, Transfer & Empowering Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders at Irvine Valley College. The program is a five-year grant awarded to IVC by the U.S. Department of Education through the Title III: AANAPISI program. The purpose of the grant is to advance IVC programs and services to better serve our students and our local community through targeted initiatives and expanded resources.

Throwback Thursday - A look back at some memorable moments in ELEVATE this past year. We welcomed California Poet Laureate Lee Herrick to IVC to celebrate AANAPISI Week. Hosted events such as; Orientation, Filipino American History Month, Chinatown Rising Screening with Film Producer Josh Chuck, had our students perform a Dragon Dance for Lunar New Year, took our students on a field trip to the theater, and had a Chinese Tea Mixology workshop to highlight a few of the numerous programs and activities offered through ELEVATE. Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for next school year. Until then, have a great summer!

Tonight as you crossed that stage, turned your tassels, and closed the IVC chapter in your academic journeys we look forward to seeing where your next adventure takes you. Please know we’ll always be in your corner and rooting for you along the way, and that you’ll always be welcomed back home in the CAANAPI. Now go out there, spread your wings, and go and do great things. Congratulations to all of our ELEVATE graduates! Oh the places you’ll go!
