It has been re-established (as of fall 2010) to provide women enrolled at UCSB the opportunity to continue to learn and participate in the sport and culture of water polo. The Club provides organizational and financial support, through team dues, to pay for the teams' associated pool time, equipment, and tournament participation. The UCSB Women's Water Polo Club and its founders are devoted to fostering individual and team development of both the sport and culture of water polo. This Club competes within the CWPA's Pacific Coast Division. The season runs from January to May. Although the team has only been in existence since 2010, it has already achieved great successes within the Pacific Coast division. The Gauchos have finished in the top 4 teams every year in the Pacific Coast division and claimed the National Championship title at UC Santa Cruz in 2016. As their next season approaches, the Gauchos are stronger than ever with many returning players and a large number of new team mates, including several players who made First and Second Team All-League for CWPA last season. UCSB Women's Club Water Polo plans to have a very competitive and successful season this coming year.
