Happy World Health Day! This year's theme "Together for Health. Stand with Science" emphasizes the importance of science-led innovations improving health and equitable access to care. In recognition of Diversity Month, we’d like to highlight Episode 8 of the Cornell Inclusive Excellence Podcast.

In this episode, Erin Sember-Chase and Toral Patel are joined by Jada Hamilton (Senior Director of Clinical Operations at Cornell Health), Qiana Watson (First-Gen/Low-Income Community Liaison and therapist at Cornell Health), and Herb Alexander (Chief People Officer and Chief Diversity Officer at Centralus Health) to discuss the roles universities and communities play in advancing health equity. Together, they explore the historical roots of healthcare inequities, ongoing barriers to access and trust, and the steps healthcare systems and providers can take to create more equitable systems. The conversation highlights how collaboration, accessibility, and community-centered approaches are essential to building a healthier campus and community for all.

Health and wellbeing thrive in spaces where people feel seen, valued, and empowered. By embracing diversity and centering equity, we move closer to a future where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their best health.

Today, we honor the trailblazers who paved the way and the modern-day heroes who continue to break barriers. This International Women’s Day, we embrace the theme . It’s a reminder that our progress is not a zero-sum game; when we invest in each other—through mentorship, support, and advocacy—we all rise together.

Let’s take a moment today to:
-Acknowledge the women in our lives who lead with grace and resilience.
-Listen to the voices that have been historically overlooked.
-Commit to actions that foster true equity, not just for today, but for every day.

Happy International Women's Day! 💜
