A tradition of patience, compassion, and enlightenment.

From September 22–28, Tibetan monks from Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies visited the IC School of Business to create a beautiful sand mandala, carefully constructing an intricate design grain by grain. The mandala serves as a reminder to take time to reflect and appreciate the present moment.

We’re grateful to welcome this meaningful tradition to campus and invite our community to experience the process together.

From the classroom to the world of professional sports!

This summer, Bella Maynard, a junior double majoring in Sport Management and Marketing, put her skills into practice as a Guest Relations and Ticket Office Intern with the Buffalo Bisons.

During the internship, Bella assisted with ticket and package sales, used upselling techniques to promote ticket packages, supported guest relations and ticket office operations, and interacted with fans to help create a positive game-day experience.

Bella found the internship online and applied directly through the organization’s application process.

Throughout the experience, she strengthened her communication and customer service skills by working with fans each day. She also gained hands-on experience with sales and upselling techniques while learning how to communicate effectively in a professional sports environment.

Reflecting on the experience, Bella shared:

“My favorite part of my internship was getting to go into Buffalo every day because I realized how much I love working in a city. I also loved game days because the environment was so energetic and fast-paced. There was always something going on, which made coming to work exciting.”

Her advice to other business students:

“Put yourself out there and be willing to try new things. Don’t limit yourself to opportunities you’re already familiar with. Every experience gives you the chance to learn something new, build connections, and figure out what you’re passionate about.”

We’re excited to see Bella continue building on this experience as she develops her skills in sport management, marketing, sales, and customer service!

Earlier this month, a group of our Finance and Accounting students took their learning beyond the classroom with an unforgettable two-day Meet the Firms experience in New York City!

Students had the opportunity to explore a range of careers across finance, accounting, consulting, compliance, technology, and professional services through visits with leading firms including Goldman Sachs, Citi, KPMG, Bloomberg LP, and JPMorgan Chase.

Throughout the trip, students connected with alumni and industry professionals, asked thoughtful questions, gained insight into different career paths, and experienced firsthand what it’s like to work in the heart of the financial industry.

Beyond the firm visits, the experience challenged students to navigate New York City, build confidence in professional settings, expand their networks, and envision what’s possible for their future careers.

A special thank you to John Crawford and A. Jonathan Chalmers for helping make this experience possible, and to all of our alumni, hosts, and industry partners who generously shared their time, experiences, and advice with our students.

From the classroom to the world of IT consulting and sales!

This summer, Riley Moses ’27, a Strategic Leadership major with double minors in Business Analytics and Entrepreneurship & Innovation, put his skills into practice as a Sales and Analytical Intern at Melillo Consulting.

During his internship, Riley supported the Business Development Representative team by building reports, analyzing and organizing data, developing client outreach lists, and exploring ways AI could improve efficiency. He also collaborated with teams across the company and sought out opportunities to contribute to new projects.

Riley landed the opportunity through an existing connection within the company who helped move his résumé through the application process—reinforcing one of the biggest lessons he took from the experience: relationships matter.

Reflecting on his experience, Riley shared:

“My favorite part was getting the opportunity to work alongside the field representatives in New York City. Being included in client meetings and seeing people build relationships and create partnerships gave me valuable insight into the sales world and what it could be like to work in a fast-paced environment.”

His advice to other students:

“Apply early and don’t be afraid to reach out to friends and family. The job market is very competitive, and connections can make a huge difference. I applied to many internships online and only received a handful of interviews, so reaching out to people you know can open doors to opportunities you may not have found otherwise.”

We’re excited to see Riley continue building on this experience as he develops his skills in leadership, analytics, entrepreneurship, and business!

Last week, a few of our Sports Management majors took their learning beyond the classroom with an unforgettable two-day trip to New York City for Meet the Firms!

Students visited the NHL, NBA, Madison Square Garden, The Team and Citi Field while connecting with alumni working across the sports industry. Along the way, they gained valuable career insight, built meaningful professional connections, and experienced some of the industry’s most iconic organizations and venues firsthand.

The trip kicked off with a Mets game at Citi Field, where students had the chance to connect with even more alumni working in sports.

What an incredible two days of learning, networking, and experiencing the sports industry in action!

A special thank you to Lance Warwick and Johnathan Chalmers for helping make this experience possible, and to all of our alumni who took the time to connect with our students!

From the classroom to the world of auditing!
This summer, Josh Bourdoulous ’27, an Accounting major at the Ithaca College School of Business, put his skills into practice as an Audit Intern at PKF O’Connor Davies LLP.

During his internship, Josh gained hands-on experience with audit procedures, financial statement reviews, account testing, and client documentation, while working with a variety of financial accounts.

Josh landed the opportunity through LinkedIn after reaching out directly to a partner. The connection started with a coffee chat and ultimately led to his internship. He also gained valuable insights into the CPA path and professional communication.
Reflecting on his experience, Josh shared:

“My favorite part of the internship was when I was first entrusted to work in an official audit binder. I was responsible for auditing fixed assets, investments, and cash, and I was able to sign off as the preparer for the first time. It was a great feeling to see that the work I was doing was trusted and contributing to the overall audit.”

Some advice from Josh:

“My biggest advice would be to apply as early as you can, as the accounting field can be very competitive. I would also encourage students not to be afraid to ask questions throughout their internship. Everyone I worked with was willing to help, and asking questions was one of the best ways I learned throughout the experience.”

We’re excited to see Josh continue building on this experience as he works toward a career in accounting! 💙💛
