Sigma Alpha Iota is an organization which promotes interaction among those who share a commitment to music. Members of SAI are active in all areas of campus music and campus life, working closely with faculty, administration, campus and community groups, and music professionals and patrons. In addition to personal encouragement and support, members may receive scholarships, loans and awards in man

y areas and at all levels of music-related study. Sigma Alpha Iota has long been recognized as a leader in the field of music and provides a lifetime of fraternity contact. The Epsilon chapter was chartered at Ithaca College in 1909. While the college resided on the commons, the Epsilon chapter lived in a house at 440 E. Shortly after the college moved up to its current home on South Hill, the sisterhood followed and moved in to Terrace 9, where it still resides today. 2009 marked the 100th anniversary of the Epsilon chapter, now the 3rd oldest chapter of over 200 collegiate chapters throughout the world. Members of Sigma Alpha Iota possess a genuine love for music, philanthropy, leadership, and sisterhood. Requirements include: a 2.7 GPA or higher, having taken or being currently enrolled in a music course, and attending at least one recruitment event to get to know as many of the sisters as possible.
