Timothy Johnson, Professor Emeritus of Music Theory, published an article about Caroline Shaw’s Partita for 8 Voices in Music Theory Online. As with much of his prior scholarship in which he draws relationships between music and outside fields, including baseball, mathematics, history, and politics, this article focuses on music analysis in the context of visual arts. His article, “Lines and Points: Caroline Shaw’s Partita for 8 Voices and Sol LeWitt’s Wall Drawings,” explores Shaw’s Pulitzer-prize winning piece in connection with the art that inspired it. The photo shows Prof. Johnson in front of one of LeWitt's drawings at MASS MoCA. You can access the article here: https://mtosmt.org/issues/mto.25.31.4/toc.31.4.php
