"Marco’s approach was always the same: identify something you want to do, find the right people to help you, work relentlessly, and refuse to assume that your age, circumstances, or other people’s expectations define what you can accomplish. He believed that hard work, dedication, curiosity, and the willingness to hire the right people could make anything possible."

We have lost one of our own, we are saddened to learn Marco passed away on August 27 after a courageous battle with cancer. Please join us in honoring Cornell Hotel Society 2026 Inductee Marco Benvenuti, MMH '05. Hall of Fame 2026 Inductee, Michelle Russo, '87 reflects on what she'd tell her younger self: "If I could talk to my 21-year-old self, a newly minted member of the Cornell Hotel Society, I’d tell her to find her passion sooner, not the job that looks impressive, but the one where the time disappears, and to trust that hard work and integrity pay off, just maybe not on the timeline you’d like."
