Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads our nation’s observance of Older Americans Month. The theme for 2020 is "Make Your Mark."

This theme was selected to encourage and celebrate countless contributions that older adults make to our communities. Their time, experience, and talents benefit family, peers, and neighbors every day. Communities, organizations, and individuals of all ages are also making their marks. This year’s theme highlights the difference everyone can make – in the lives of older adults, in support of caregivers, and to strengthen communities. #OAM2020 #MakeYourMark

Social distancing helps protect the immunocompromised, older individuals, and health care workers. Dr. Francis Collins, NIH director, explains in detail in this blog post: https://directorsblog.nih.gov/2020/03/19/to-beat-covid-19-social-distancing-is-a-must/

A medical crisis can strike anyone at any age and it is important to be prepared. Even if you are not sick now, planning for health care in the future is an important step toward making sure you get the medical care you want. Now is a great time to work on advance care planning so you are prepared later.
