✨ LRC Student Assistant Spotlight ✨

Meet Clara, one of our returning student assistants.

Clara is a senior studying Molecular and Cell Biology in CALS. Originally from Pamplona, Spain, she can speak Spanish, Catalan, French, English, and Korean, which she has been studying at Cornell for four years now. Outside of academics, she enjoys attending concerts, playing the ukulele, and taking strolls in nature. You can find her at the LRC throughout the week even when she's not working at the front desk!

✨ LRC Student Assistant Spotlight ✨

Meet Durjoy, one of our new student assistants.

Durjoy is a Sophomore in CAS. He is planning on double-majoring in Linguistics & Cognitive Science with a minor in Data Science, and even potentially a Sanskrit minor! Durjoy speaks Bengali and Spanish and is currently learning Hindi and Sanskrit. Last summer, he studied abroad in New Delhi, India at Ashoka University where he learned about language policy. In his free time, Durjoy enjoys cooking Indian dishes and practicing Indian Classical Music with his friends, going on long nature-filled adventures, and having movie nights. Come visit Durjoy in G25 at 4:30pm-5:30pm on Thursdays for Bengali Conversation Hours!

Calling all middle and high school students curious about world languages and cultures! Join us on Saturday, October 24, from 10am–3pm for a free day of interactive sessions led by Cornell students, faculty, and staff.

🌍 No language experience required
🎉 Free to participate (registration required)
🥪 Healthy snacks and lunch included

Come discover something new, explore languages and cultures from around the world, and connect with our global community!

Are you a Cornell undergraduate or graduate student, faculty, or staff member who loves languages and cultures? Join us as a volunteer for World Languages Day on Saturday, October 24!

Help us welcome middle and high school students to campus for a day of exploring languages and cultures from around the world and share your own enthusiasm along the way.

Volunteers receive a free WLD volunteer t-shirt, catered lunch, and verification of volunteer hours upon request, plus the chance to have fun while making WLD a memorable experience for our participants.
