SOCIAL WORKER II
Northampton County Department of Social Services has a vacant Social Worker II
position in the Work First Unit. Position requires working with DSS clients to enable them to obtain education, skills and training so that they may become economically self-sufficient. Requires in-depth knowledge of social work skills and excellent communication skills. Position also includes some Income Maintenance Caseworker duties. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Prefer individuals with innovative and creative ideas.
Minimum Education and Experience: BSW from an accredited school of social work; or, four-year degree in a human services field from an accredited college/university and one year directly related experience; or, four-year degree from an accredited college/university and two years directly related experience. May consider applicants who qualify for lower social work level. Salary is based on applicant’s ability to qualify for full classification. Northampton County Department of Social Services has a vacant Social Worker III Foster Home Licensing/Adoption position. This position requires two to three days per month Intake in the Services Unit and participation in the agency on-call schedule.

INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER II
Northampton County Department of Social Services has a vacant full time permanent Income Maintenance Caseworker II position. Work at this level involves interviewing clients to obtain information, completing initial applications, verifying information obtained, determining eligibility and completing scheduled program reviews. Ability to speak Spanish would be positive.
Considerable knowledge of the program area of assignment. Good mathematical reasoning and computation skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret rules, regulations and procedures. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker for the Income Maintenance Caseworker II level. Candidates may be considered at the Income Maintenance Caseworker I level which requires as a minimum graduation from high school and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience, which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, the gathering and compiling of data, the analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks. SOCIAL WORK SUPERVISOR II
Northampton County Department of Social Services has a vacant Social Work Supervisor II position. Employee will supervise social work / income maintenance staff in the Employment Services and Day Care Units. Must possess knowledge of methods and principles of social worker supervision and training; techniques and practices and their application to specific problems; considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely; and to plan and execute work effectively.
Minimum education and experience: Candidate must meet minimum qualification standards as established by the Office of State Personnel. Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work or counseling experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or four year degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and three years of social work or counseling; or graduation from a four year college and four years of experience in a related human services field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization.
