Meet Jameika Stuckey, a pharmacist who works for a pharmaceutical company in Medical Affairs, and your pharmacist.
Her journey into pharmacy began while working as a hospital researcher, where conversations with a research pharmacist sparked her interest in the profession. Before transitioning into Medical Affairs, she worked as an inpatient clinical pharmacist, directly supporting patients and helping ensure medication safety. Today Jameika shares scientific data, answers medical questions, and helps healthcare clinicians understand and apply the latest medical science to deliver the best patient care.
One memorable experience involved a heart transplant patient struggling to understand their complex medication regimen. Determined to help, Jameika made a voice recording explaining each medication so the patient could listen as often as needed. Eventually, the patient got it! Their spouse even joked that they were tired of hearing Jameika’s voice and disliked her before they had ever met her.
When asked what she wishes more people understood about pharmacists, Jameika emphasized their commitment to preventing harm and keeping patients safe. Regardless of their practice setting, pharmacists share a common goal: helping patients receive safe and effective care.
