Great times at Pathways to Possibilities showcasing Union University, The Hub at Union University, and opportunities in engineering. Partnering with others in our community to expose 8th graders to careers in engineering and seeing our students engage with them as they check out their work is exciting.

The engineering department at Union University is organizing an Engineering Expo in the Ethos Forum on August 31. Alumni and friends in local industry, we hope that you can join us to connect with our engineering students and provide them with insights into the many exciting career opportunities for engineers. If you would like to join us for the engineering Expo or would like more information, please contact Dr. Pingen - [email protected].

The goal of this event is not to be a traditional career fair. We want our students—especially freshmen—to meet practicing engineers and see the incredible variety of things engineers get to design, build, solve, and create. However, the Engineering Expo is also a great opportunity to begin building relationships with engineering students as they look ahead at future internships and job opportunities.

If you are interested in learning how to use 3D printers, laser cutters, UV printers, sublimation presses, a 6 needle embroidery and many of the other tools in a makerspace, check out "How to make (almost) anything!" UNI/EGR 295 offered this fall at Union University on Tuesdays from 1:40-4:20.

This spring 6 students participated in the How To Make (Almost) Anything course and learned all about the technologies in The Maker’s Space.

Union University Engineering students are prepared for a wide variety of career opportunities and as a department we love to hear where God leads them. Engineering senior Stacia Talbott is interning with MARS at the Jackson Pringles plant and 2026 engineering alum Landon Haywood just started a full time engineering position with Mars after interning last summer.

Thanks Mars/Pringles for providing opportunities for our students and alumni.

Engineering Junior Easton Slater is getting hands-on engineering experience during his summer internship at Nidec Power - Lexington.

As part of his internship assignment Easton is utilizing the 3D printers in The Hub at Union University to produce high quality models of NIDEC‘s alternators. This partnership is one of the examples how the HUB (hub.uu.edu) provides collaboration opportunities for students, Union University, and our community.
