Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Bro. Pittman is a Digital Marketing Media major who serves as both Senior Class President and SGA Attorney General at Edward Waters University.

Bringing creativity and dedication to each of his roles, he continues to lead on campus while helping preserve and advance the legacy of Kappa Upsilon.

The Brothers of Kappa Upsilon proudly represented at the Florida Federation of Alpha Chapters District Conference in Orlando through leadership, service, fellowship, and stepping.

Bro. Anthony Dodson, SPR ’25, made history as the first-ever undergraduate College Brother to serve as a judge for the district awards competitions.

Bro. Markeis Bass, SPR ’26, received the Leadership Service Award for his participation and service in the inaugural Alpha Cohort of the Alpha LIGHT Mentoring Program.

Bro. Pittman-Julio, SPR ’26, connected with brothers, professionals, and leaders from diverse backgrounds, building relationships and expanding Kappa Upsilon’s network.

We also joined forces with the Brothers of Sigma Upsilon to compete in the District Step Show, bringing our brotherhood and energy to the stage.

On Friday, October 2, we had the opportunity to do community service alongside NPHC at Feeding Northeast Florida.

The Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., alongside Bro. Bass, Spring ’26, and Royal Court Ms. 1906, came together to give back and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Together, we helped sort 7 pallets totaling 3,605 pounds of food, which contributed to approximately 3,004 meals for families throughout Northeast Florida. We also donated an additional 42 pounds of food through JU NPHC.

Service is more than an act—it is a commitment to uplifting the communities we serve.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, tonight’s Democracy After Dark event has been POSTPONED.

We appreciate everyone who planned to join the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for an evening centered around civic engagement, voting, and understanding the power of our voices in our communities.

This National Hazing Prevention Week, the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. had the opportunity to hear from Lianne Kowiak as she shared the story of her son, Harrison, and the importance of hazing prevention.

Kappa Upsilon does not support or condone hazing in any form. Brotherhood should always be built on respect, accountability, and looking out for one another.

The Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted a Business Seminar at Edward Waters University focused on providing students with practical knowledge and tools they can carry beyond the classroom.

From professional development and dressing for success to financial literacy and building confidence in professional spaces, the evening was centered around preparing students to take the next step toward their personal and professional goals.

A special thank you to Brother Foster and Brother Fordham for sharing their time, knowledge, and experiences with our students. We also appreciate everyone who attended, participated, and helped make the seminar a success.

Mind Over Matter: A Mental Health Conversation

In recognition of Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. brought our campus community together for an important conversation surrounding mental health and wellness.

Led by our Royal Court, Mind Over Matter created a space for students to speak openly about mental wellness, managing stress, finding healthy ways to navigate life’s challenges, and understanding the importance of having a strong support system.

We often ask people how they’re doing, but this event challenged us to go beyond the surface. Check on your friends. Check on your classmates. Check on your brothers. Sometimes simply listening, being present, and reminding someone that they matter can have a greater impact than we realize.

We thank our Royal Court for leading this meaningful conversation and everyone who came out, participated, and helped us continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.

Your mind matters. Your life matters. Your presence matters.
