Introducing Mrs. Raven Johnston, new English instructor at JC! 📚

Mrs. Johnston, an alumna of Jacksonville College, brings eight years of college teaching experience to JC and holds a M.A. in English from UT Tyler. She is a published poet and book artist who integrates material culture, traditional bookmaking, and the textual analysis of primary sources into her courses.

In her own words... "I am dedicated to nurturing students’ intellectual and spiritual growth within a Christ-centered community."

Giveaways + Games with FBC Jacksonville 🤩

FBC hosts a young adult bible study on Sunday mornings at 9 AM for anyone interested. Join them at 210 Philip Street for a study through the Sermon on the Mount along with fellowship and refreshments.

Introducing Mrs. Keitha McLain, new biology instructor at JC! 🔬

Mrs. McLain grew up in Jacksonville and comes to JC with more than 20 years of teaching experience. She has been married for 30 years and has two grown children along with two dogs. She enjoys singing with the worship team at her church, walking, lifting weights, and teaching and playing mahjong.

In her own words... " I’ve always had natural curiosity about how the human body works, and that curiosity has shaped my love of teaching science. I’m looking forward to sharing that enthusiasm with my Biology and Anatomy & Physiology students and, hopefully, inspiring some of that same curiosity in them!"

The Jacksonville College family is mourning the loss of a beloved member of our community, David White.

A 1974 Jacksonville College graduate, David returned to JC after a long career in public education. He spent many years on our campus working in housing, but his impact extended far beyond that role. David invested in students, offering guidance and encouragement to dozens of young people during their time at Jacksonville College. David had a particular heart for our international students and was a welcoming and caring presence for those who were far from their own families.

While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in his homegoing and give thanks for the life he shared with our Jacksonville College family. We pray for God’s comfort and peace for David’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service celebrating the life of David White will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
