Congratulations to our incredible Hicks Honors Orientation Leaders! Your enthusiasm, leadership, and dedication helped make every student's first experience at UNF memorable. You all are amazing, and we are so grateful for everything you do!

During New Student Orientation this summer, we had the joy of meeting our incoming Fall 2026 Hicks Honors College cohort, and we want to give a huge thank you to the entire New Student Orientation team for their hard work throughout the summer as they welcomed our newest Ospreys to campus. The Hicks Honors College is thrilled to inaugurate Will Pewitt's first day in the role as Dean of HHC!

Respected by many throughout the Honors and UNF communities, Dean Pewitt has spent years inspiring and connecting with students through his teaching, mentorship, and unique faculty-student collaborations from his undergrad research journal Crossing Currents to his productions in UNF Shakespeare. Widely published in a range of fields, he is excited to step into the role to connect more students to opportunities on campus and beyond through exciting new initiatives; you can now book a "Walk & Talk" with him just to touch base!

When he’s not on campus, Dean Pewitt enjoys spending time with his wife, Jennie Ziegler, and two children. He grew up playing basketball, has lived in several states, started teaching in higher ed at 21, and has traveled widely (getting engaged in Paris).
