Have you ever wanted to try what that crazy sport where you climb on a rock with a rope? Or how about experience the breathtaking views you see in magazines? The Jacksonville State University Outdoor Adventure Club aims to give you the opportunity to experience the outdoors like you've always wanted. We take multiple trips every month to various events and places, and teach handy outdoor skills to help give you lasting experiences throughout life. Anyone can join! We encourage the old to bring in the new!

Hey folks. My names Paul Killen. I'm a GA at the University of Alabama for outdoor rec and I used to be the VP of this very club. Anyways I was looking to go climb at either sand rock or some tall rocks somewhere around Chattanooga. Look me up on FB and message me if your interested.
Hey y'all! T-shirt money is due by the end of the week. There will be some officers in room 104 of Martin hall this Wednesday, between 5-7pm to collect shirt money. If you can't meet then, then feel free to contact an officer.
This Saturday is our rock climbing trip at Cherokee Rock Village! We will be meeting at the Coliseum at 10:00 AM to haul up and go climb! Be sure to bring water, lunch, and $5 for parking (carpooling encouraged) and wear tennis shoes! See y'all Saturday!
We're going hiking to McDill Point this weekend! Come on out and enjoy some great views on the tallest mountain in Alabama!

Hey y'all. We will be going to Horsepens 40 this weekend! Horsepens 40 is some of the best bouldering in the world! We will be camping over night, and even if climbing isn't your groove, you're more than welcome to come kick it with everyone. There are very limited spots still open, so if you would like to go please let an officer know ASAP.
We will be meeting in the Coliseum parking lot at 10am Saturday morning. please bring at least $20, water, tent/hammock, and a sleeping bag (blanket/pillow will suffice). Keep in mind the weather will be variable, and to pack accordingly.
We do have some camping gear that can be rented, so if you need gear let one of the officers know!
All climbing gear can be rented on location, for $10. So if you plan on climbing please bring an extra $10 for gear (includes crash pad and shoes)

Here at the OAC headquarters, we decided to deviate from the Spring break norm. We'll be heading out to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park for a 3 day backpacking trip!
Here are some minor details:
It's cheaper than the beach.
We leave Monday. We come back Thursday.
Two nights on the trail. One night(s) (or two) to experience Gatlinburg night life.
We'll be starting at Cades Cove and making our way to Clingman's dome. While backpacking, we'll cross over some of the most renown sites on the Appalachian Trail- Rocky Top, Thunderhead Mountain, Clingman's Dome, and much more.
Let an officer know if you want in; spots are limited.
Due to the recent weather closures, we've decided to push back our climbing trip this Sunday. Stay tuned for more details! We'll be presenting backpacking details as well!

Tomorrow is our bouldering trip to Horse Pens 40! We are meeting at the coliseum at 10 AM and are going to camp overnight so bring a sleeping bag, about $15-$20, some food and water, a hammock if you have one and your adventurous side! Even if you didn't sign up at the meeting Tuesday, you are still more than welcome to come! Just let one of the officers know and give them your contact info.

Hey faceboogers! Don't forget! We've got our Sandrock climbing trip this Saturday! Bring your friends, cats, and camels. You won't want to miss this.
If you plan on attending please come to our meeting at 7pm in the Coliseum tomorrow (Thursday), and bring $5 for trip costs.
If you can't make the meeting, but plan on going please contact an officer ASAP to sign up. We'll be meeting at the front Coliseum parking lot at 10:00am Saturday morning. Please wear appropriate shoes, at least one liter of water, and a bagged lunch. We hope to see you there!!

We'll be going rock climbing at Sandrock on November 16th! All skill levels are welcome to join; trained guides and gear will be provided.
We'll also have a meeting this Thursday at 7pm in the Coliseum, as well as the following Thursday, same time same place. There we will have sign up forms for the trip to Sandrock. Please bring $5 if you plan on going climbing. Don't miss out!
