We’re getting ready for the first day of school at URock!

Yesterday, our staff and faculty gathered for a fall retreat to connect, collaborate, and prepare for the upcoming academic year. We discussed programs and plans for the year ahead and had the opportunity to welcome and introduce our new instructors. We’re excited for all that’s to come!

A special thank you to Dean Tricia Clasen for her leadership and dedication to URock. We’re also grateful to Chancellor Corey King and Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Pieter deHart for joining us at URock and helping us kick off another great year.

Welcome Day is happening from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow! Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. in the quad outside the Wells Cultural Center!

All incoming freshmen can leave their mark at URock by putting their handprint in the tunnel.

Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to meet fellow new students, connect with staff and instructors, and attend helpful breakout sessions. In addition, students can tour the campus and pick up textbooks from the bookstore. Lunch and games will be provided as students discover ways to get involved in the URock community.

Warhawk Welcome Day is almost here! Join us on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at the UW-Whitewater at Rock County campus.

At this year's welcome event, students will have the chance to meet fellow new students, connect with staff and instructors, attend break-out sessions that answer questions about college life, and learn more about university resources. Students will also have the opportunity to take a campus tour and pick up textbooks. This event is designed to help students discover ways to become active members of the URock campus community. Lunch and games will be provided.

Coming soon to the URock Campus! The Intergenerational Technology and Education Services (IGeTS) Mobile is a program that provides free one-on-one technology support and training for:

* Adults age 18 and older with disabilities.
* Adults age 50 and older.

Services are provided by UW-Whitewater students and delivered in 30-minute increments. All services are provided at no cost.

Dates:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 11 AM - 1 PM, starting on Tuesday, September 8th.
