Today, we remember a very special member of the Carson-Newman family.

In 1990, Carson-Newman awarded Dolly Parton a Doctor of Letters degree in recognition of her contributions to education and East Tennessee.

In the Department of Business, we also remember her as an incredible entrepreneur, brand-builder and philanthropist whose impact reached far beyond entertainment.

Her legacy is a powerful reminder of what can happen when creativity, business and service come together.
