In effort to assist YOU, the members of the Class of 2016, we will be hosting a Majors Fair in the McIntyre Lounge on Wednesday, October 7 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. You are free to come at any time during this period.

This event entitled, “ Making Major Decisions” will provide students with a forum to explore the opportunities listed below.

· Summer Classes

· Graduate School

· Leadership and Service opportunities

Hey Class of 2016, 2017 & 2018!

Did you have a good experience your freshman year, and want to help others have that same positive experience?

Apply to be a GEMS Peer Mentor!

Most of you may already have a good idea what a GEMS Peer Mentor does because you had one work with you in your Freshman Seminar.

Here's some more information:

Main points of the job description:
Attend Freshman Seminar class once a week
Work with faculty to help support struggling students
Meet with Patrice McDonald once a week to discuss student concerns
Hold group study and/or tutoring sessions
Generally help students in their transition to college life so they
are successful

This is a leadership position with a competitive application process.
Students make $7.25 an hour with other great benefits as well.

Thursday, Feb. 26: Saint Peter's University Student Health Professions Panel. The student panelists will discuss strategies for being a well-rounded student and applying to health related professional schools. A Student Health Profession Panel List will be made available -- it will contain the names and contact information of current students and alumni who have volunteered to serve as peer mentors for students interested in pursuing a health profession. This is the second year for this event, whose idea was conceived and designed by Cassandra Demosthenes, Class of 2014.

Wednesday, Feb. 25: Peter Cannon, Class of 2015, will present "Introduction to Multiple Mini Interviews for Professional School". MMI is an interviewing technique being used more and more by medical schools (& veterinary schools). MMI consists of a series of short interview stations used to assess non-cognitive qualities such as "cultural sensitivity, maturity, teamwork, empathy, reliability, and communication skills". Prior to the start of each mini-interview rotation, candidates receive a question/scenario and have a short period of time (e.g. two minutes) to prepare an answer.

FYE's Orientation T-Shirt Design Contest

We need YOUR help to design our Class of 2019 T-shirt! Show your peacock pride with your original design.

The winner will win a $100 Bookstore gift card and have their design featured on the official Class of 2019 Orientation T-shirt and backpack.

Submission Rules & Guidelines
· Open to current Saint Peter’s University undergraduate students;
· The design must include: “Saint Peter’s University,” “Class of 2019,” and a peacock;
· Must submit original work—no copywritten work will be accepted;
· Offensive or vulgar imagery/text will not be allowed;
· All designs must be intended for the front of the T-Shirt and backpack;
· Submissions must be JPEG or PDF files;
· One entry per person;
· Final submissions due by 4PM on Friday, March 6th to
