“Vessel for Hugging Emptiness” is one of the interactive pieces in Milcah Bassel’s Imaginal Cells Exhibition. Made out of plaster, milk, and wax, the artist invites you to experience emptiness as tangible objects to interact with.

Participate in "Circulating Emptiness" by borrowing the vessel for a week!

This is an audience-paticipation project which Milcah Bassel conceived for her exhibition at the Visual Arts Gallery at Kean Jersey City.

The artist will be present this afternoon between 4 and 5 pm. If you haven't visited, here's another opportunity to engage in a conversation and interact with her art!

The artist often drops in on Friday afternoons throughout the exhibition (on view until November 24).

Join the art!

Milcah Bassel’s “Imaginal Cells” exhibition breaks traditional gallery practices by inviting visitors to not only touch the art, but take it home for 7 days. “ Vessels For Holding Emptiness” is a circulation of ceramic vessels visitors are allow to borrow while reflecting on what holding emptiness means to them in notebook.

Kean Jersey City is honored to be the first stop to this piece’s circulation! Thank you to everyone who is participating in it as we speak. Let’s all take the chance to hold emptiness.
