A doctoral student from Marshall University invites you to participate in our research study entitled: Exploration of Health Provider Training for Sensitive Populations in Appalachia. To participate, you must be at least 18 years old, a professional in a healthcare setting, and currently practicing in Appalachia.
Your help in disseminating this information would be greatly appreciated, as it will contribute to our understanding of training that providers in Appalachia have received related to healthcare for sensitive populations. The purpose of this study is to identify patterns in training that healthcare providers have received and the conditions under which the training occurred. The research findings will provide insight into how to tailor training plans across interprofessional groups to improve health outcomes for patients.
After completing the survey, you will be given the opportunity to provide your contact information via a separate survey link to be added to a list of providers interested may be willing to respond to surveys in the future. The contact information provided will not be able to be linked to your research survey responses. There is no penalty for exiting this study at any time.
If you are interested in participating in this research, please click the link or scan the QR code on the attached flyer to begin: https://marshall.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0OIAJC0hXpc7z1A

ETSU Department of Social Work and ETSU Department of Counseling and Human Services begin their free monthly Lunch and Learns in August!

Tennessee social workers: Did you know that the Tennessee Board of Social Workers does not pre-approve individual continuing education courses or require NASW approval? Under the Board’s rules, licensees use their professional judgment to determine whether a program is applicable to their professional development and meets the Board’s continuing education guidelines.

Our Lunch and Learn programs are approved for continuing education credit for licensed professional counselors, and participants will receive documentation of attendance. Social workers may review each program’s content and determine whether it meets their continuing education requirements.

As always, individual licensees are responsible for ensuring that a program meets the requirements applicable to their license and renewal cycle.

Recent grads from our Counseling Program, here's a potential employment opportunity for you!

"Good Morning,

I (Latoshia Belcher) am the Clinical Director at New Life Medicine group. We are an integrative health care program that provides individual and group therapy to those with SUD and mental health disorders. As we are integrative, we see a plethora of diagnosis and are able to work hand in hand with prescribers. We are hiring positions for new graduates. We have had interns and graduates from ETSU's CMHC program. I am very impressed with the skills both graduates and interns come into the field with, as well as the university support.

New Graduates will receive free supervision towards a LPC or a social work license ( LMSW, LCSW). We offer health insurance, paid time off, and stipends for continuing education and licensure fees. We also are giving our graduates space to become dually license in TN as well as Virginia. Our therapists are offered hybrid schedules. This permits them to work from home and in office. I have found that this helps with work life balance and assists with overall positive outcomes for patients.

This offer does extend to any former graduates or therapists looking for a position.

Please have any one interested in a possible position contact me at [email protected] or at our Bristol Office 276-644-9899."
