Pitt-Johnstown Social Sciences Division

Pitt-Johnstown Social Sciences Division Within Business, students may complete concentrations in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, and Marketing. ethnic studies, the American City, etc.

The Division of Social Sciences offers baccalaureate degree programs in Business, Economics, Environmental Studies, Geography, History, Political Science, Sociology, and Social Sciences. In the Social Science program, a student may choose to combine concentrations of courses in two social science fields other than Business, e.g. history and political science, or economics and geography, or to clu

ster course selections around a self-designed theme, e.g. The Business program is designed to emphasize the study of business fields within the context of the social sciences, with each Business student completing a core of Business and Business-related skills courses in addition to the social science core of courses before completing their chosen concentration. Planning is underway for the introduction of a new degree in Justice and Criminology and a new Business concentration in Management Information Systems in the near future.

Matt Baun (Political Science '96) spoke recently by videoconference technology to Dr. Wrabley's Natural Resource Policy class from his office in Yreka, CA. Matt is the Klamath Basin Coordinator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. He has played a key role in bringing tribal governments, state and county governments, federal agencies, and local farmers together to settle contentious water rights issues in the Klamath Basin. The settlement will lead to the largest river-dam removal project in the world.
