First National Bank Arena is entering the fall semester with several recent upgrades, including new indoor lighting capable of supporting light shows during events, enhanced outdoor lighting around parking areas, and a new volleyball court surface installed ahead of the season. The improvements are intended to enhance the fan experience, improve visibility around the venue, and provide a safer playing surface for student-athletes.

Hear that? 🔔

After nearly three years of silence, the bells in the Dean B. Ellis Library clock tower are ringing across campus once again!

Following repairs over the summer, the bells now chime throughout the day and familiar songs, seasonal music and more will soon be added to the playlist. 🐺🎶

BAM has received a 2026–27 National Endowment for the Arts Big Read grant, making it the only organization in Arkansas selected for this year’s program.

Throughout the academic year, BAM and community partners will host exhibitions, workshops, readings, conversations and more inspired by Joy Harjo’s An American Sunrise and The Girl Warrior — culminating with a special visit from Harjo in March.

Bradbury Art Museum will lead a year-long series of events featuring poet, musician and former U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo. This is made possible through a National Endowment for the Arts Big Read grant.

Big things are being built at A-State, and our community is making it happen. 🚧🔴⚫
Hytrol Conveyor Company has committed a $500,000 gift to support the new Career Readiness Education and Skills Training (CREST) Center, becoming the center's founding industry partner. The investment will help prepare future workers for careers in advanced manufacturing and other growing industries right here in Northeast Arkansas.

Even cooler? The primary workforce training space in the facility will be named the Hytrol Workforce Training Room, creating a place where people can develop new skills, discover new opportunities, and prepare for what's next.

A-State's partner, NYITCOM at A-State, has been awarded $1.5 million to help expand maternal healthcare access in rural Arkansas. The initiative will support mobile healthcare services, transportation assistance, telehealth options, and workforce development efforts that connect moms and families with the care they need closer to home. It's the kind of work that changes lives and demonstrates how higher education can make a real difference beyond campus.
