Provost Scott Billingsley joined Professor Glenn Wright’s ODS S113 Introduction to Sea Kayaking course as students learned kayak strokes and practiced self- and assisted-rescue techniques.

Introduction to Sea Kayaking introduces students to:

X̱'unei Lance Twitchell, Professor of Alaska Native Languages, shares why Indigenous language revitalization matters and the work ahead to restore the health of Indigenous languages and people.

UAS's new Master of Arts in Teaching Indigenous Languages prepares high-fluency speakers and advanced learners of any Indigenous language to become fully licensed teachers. The program will prepare and support educators committed to teaching and revitalizing Alaska's Indigenous languages, most of which are critically endangered.
