Neuroscience, the study of nervous systems throughout evolution and across the lifespan, seeks insights into fundamental questions of brain development, plasticity and disease, with efforts that address the mechanisms by which we establish and share our humanity, and that can provide solutions to the constraints on our well-being imposed by physiological and cultural limitations. The Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute supports state-of-the-art research and innovative educational activities of more than 100 neuroscience faculty-level investigators located at FAU and its affiliate research centers, and is the sponsor for the Neuroscience Graduate Program and the FAU Neuroscience Student Organization (NSO).
